THE IMPERSONAL PASSIVE (Thể bị động không ngôi) - Câu bị động không ngôi được dùng để diễn đạt ý kiến của người khác. - Câu bị động không ngôi thường chứa những động từ tường thuật như: say, think, believe, know, hope, expect, report, understand, claim, ở dạng quá khứ phân từ (VpII) S1 +think/ expect/ believe/ estimate/ say/ reported + that + S2 + V2 + O a. It is thought/ expected/ believed/ estimated/ said/ reported that + S2 + V2 + O b. S2 is thought/ expected/ believed/ estimated/ said/ reported + to V2 + to have + V2 p2 + to be V2 - ing + to have + been + V2- ing Ex: People think he drives dangerously.  It’s thought that he drives dangerously.  He is thought to drive dangerously. People say he was a teacher.  It’s said that he was a teacher.  He is said to have been a teacher. They think that he worked very hard last year.  He is thought to have worked very hard last year.  It is thought that he worked very hard last year. II. SUGGEST + V-ING/ CLAUSE WITH “SHOULD” (Cách dùng động từ suggest) S + suggest + V-ing S + suggest + (that) + S + (should) + V nguyên mẫu Ta sử dụng cấu trúc với “suggest” khi đưa ra một đề xuất, ý kiến. Cấu trúc “suggest + V-ing” được dùng để nói chung chung, không ám chỉ một người cụ thể nào. Cấu trúc “suggest that + S + V” khi muốn khuyên một người hoặc một nhóm người cụ thể. Ex: Linda suggested studying at the school library. Linda suggested we should study at the school library. I suggest that we should eat out on this especial occasion.
